Do We Really Have All The Answers?
Do We Really Have All The Answers?
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.”—Proverbs 3:5 (ESV)
WHAT GOD SAYS
Too often we think we have all the answers. We know what’s best; no one else really does. I know what’s best for my family, I know what’s best for my life.
The question we must ask ourselves is this: Do we really know what’s best?
We give in to primal desires. We allow sin to ruin what’s good in our lives. But in the wisdom of Proverbs, we are to trust in the Lord and not in ourselves. As we look to the cross, we see the importance of this. We cannot save ourselves. We cannot do what is required. And our understanding always fails us. But in the cross of Christ, we find that all things are made right between us and God. Being released of our sin by the cross and the empty tomb, our hearts turn away from ourselves and toward God.
