God Created, Well, Everything!

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. – Genesis 1:1

This is the powerful opening to our scriptures and our world. From nothing, comes everything, blessed by the hands and words of God. But for centuries we have been striving to figure out just what this all means. How did God create? Did God create? God? Create? As time went on, the question got shorter. But regardless, the truth still stands, in the beginning God created. And in creation, God reveals Himself to us because still to this day He is at work in His world. As the cosmos spins, as the grass and trees grow, as the rain falls, God is in and among it all.

Yet through sin, we see creation groan. Suffering in natural and man-made things. So we wait now for the beginning of Genesis to be spoken again. In the new beginning, God created the new heavens and the new earth. In the cross and from the grave, God gave life. In the work of death and resurrection, a new creation will be made. And just as today dawned through the blessings of God, so too a new day will dawn where sin and ruin will be gotten rid of and where life will be found at every corner of the new heavens and the new earth.
