For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Called To Love and Serve

I have preached on this passage so many times because it is scripture—while beautifully true—twisted by Satan to tempt us. The truth of this verse is crystal clear. God has saved us all. As a gift. Our faith understands this truth.

But so often we are tempted to stop there, and that’s a mistake. God doesn’t stop there. God’s gift to us is not just salvation. His grace is not only seen on the cross, but in our daily lives. God’s grace is lived and given through us. We have been saved by Him. The next step is to walk in the good works He’s given us to walk in. He gives us talents and abilities to love and serve those around us. Don’t stop at salvation. Continue by walking in the good works He’s calling you to do.
