From the Star to the Cross: Baptism

This third week of Lent brings us to the discussion of Baptism. What is Baptism?  Pastor Paul Rieger takes us on a journey talking about Baptism and how important it is to our spiritual lives.  He’ll talk about Jesus going to John the Baptist and how John couldn’t believe that Jesus, of all people, would need to be baptized.  The Great Commission, handed to us by Jesus in Matthew (28:18-20) says,

¹⁸ Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹ Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰ and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

That is how important Baptism is to us.  And that is why it needs to be at the forefront of our lives.
