Thank You Pastor Michael Nirva
Pastor Michael Nirva – 1963-2018
It is with extreme sadness that we report Pastor Michael Nirva, Senior Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Faribault, MN, has passed on to his Heavenly home. While we say sadness, we only mean that as people, we will miss him dearly. But as Christians, we know that his work here on earth is complete and he has gone home to our Father.
Pastor Nirva came to Trinity just a few short years ago and started making an impact right away. His calm demeanor and his dry wit were very welcome to a congregation who had gone through a lot of turmoil over the previous years. He was a stabilizing force, but in a very quiet way.
He leaves his wife Lisa and his daughters Kajsa and Noelle. Michael and Lisa were able to travel to California just a couple of weeks ago to see Noelle graduate college. They were able to go to Sweden and were looking forward to heading to Russia on vacation. Unfortunately, his cancer had other plans while they were in Sweden and that is where the Lord brought him home from.
Please pray for the family and friends of Michael as we all mourn his passing. Please pray for the congregation here at Trinity as we struggle with the loss of our senior pastor. And especially pray for Pastor Paul Rieger as he takes on even larger role here at Trinity.
Comfort from Scripture
Matthew 5:4 – Blessed are those that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
John 14:27 – I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart! And the peace I give is not fragile like the peace the world gives. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble.
John 16:33 – I have told you these things so that you will have peace of heart and mind, Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows, but cheer up, for I have overcome the world.
